In short, the stories brought out all the emotions in me, laughter, tears, sadness, fear, worry, terror, compassion. Each story had a different flavor to offer, and I savored them all. To quote Coles, his stories were good because “He shows a character by a logical progression of acts and thoughts.” By enhancing the reader’s knowledge about the characters, he made their victimization more dramatic.
